Fusidik Asit, antibakteriyel bir ilaç olarak kullanılan bir madde olan Fusidik Asit'in aktif bileşenidir. Fusidik Asit, stafilokoklardan kaynaklanan enfeksiyonların tedavisinde özellikle etkilidir. Stafilokok bakterisi, birçok farklı cilt enfeksiyonunun sorumlusu olarak bilinir. Bu enfeksiyonlar, ciltte kızarıklık, şişme, kaşıntı, püstüller veya ciltte kabarcıklar gibi semptomlarla ortaya çıkar.
Fusidik Asit, bakterinin hücre zarının içine nüfuz ederek protein sentezini engeller. Bu da bakterilerin büyümesini ve çoğalmasını durdurur.
